Government Wholesale Market 2012 Rental Concession Arrangement
Under the existing mechanism, starting on April 1, 2012, the rental of Cheung Sha Wan and Western Wholesale Food Markets managed by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department should increase by 8.04% while the rental of Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Wholesale Poultry Market should increase by 5.6%. Nevertheless, taking into account the increase in rental and wholesale food industry's operating difficulties reflected by the trade, the Government has agreed to grant the following one-off rental concessions:
- During the two-year tenancy period from 2012 to 2014, an one-month rental waiver will be provided to the existing tenants of Cheung Sha Wan Wholesale Food Market and Western Wholesale Food Market (i.e. the new rent will take effect from May 1, 2012).
In addition, taking into account the increase in rental and the adverse impact caused by the recent outbreak of avian flu to the tenants of Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Wholesale Poultry Market, the Government has agreed to grant the following one-off concession:

In the financial year 2012-2013, a half-month rental waiver will be provided to the existing tenants of the Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Wholesale Poultry Market (i.e. the new rent will be effective from May 1, 2012).
The new tenancy will be effective from May 1, 2012 to April 30, 2014.
